The idea of having a single career is becoming an old-fashioned one. The new fashion will be to have special careers or ways of earning money and further education will be something that continues throughout life. - тема, тут все ок.

How has changed the point of view on the education and a career in recent time? Why the Chevov’s “perpetual student” in the “Cherry garden” was considered to have been an idler and today people can call him a man who does self-perfection?
First of all, we should admit the fact that nowadays people can combine the education with one or two works thanks to the I-net. The worldwide web has speeded up our life, we can get the necessary information in a minute. We can, for example, learn some languages on-line without spending our precious time on a road.
Secondly, the world develops so fast that the yesterday’s information today can be called “old-fashioned”. If a person wants to be a good specialist he should study constantly and learn new information daily.
Finally, lots of jobs become irrelevant every day and if a person isn’t a really good specialist he is in a danger of losing his work. So the requalification or learning new ways of earning money become the only one way to survive.
But the quality of the information from the Web and the desire for know everything is the pile of the modern times. We have so much information about the world, there are so many books that a person just can’t be a good specialist if he tries to learn everything. Our memory isn’t endless. And, of course, the majority of the information from Web has a poor quality.
Thereby we have come to the obvious tragedy of the modern times. People just can’t learn that stream of information we faces to every day. But, a person who wants to know something can do it. He can work and study at the same time, read books and look over the Web. But he should remember that he mustn’t waste time on the information that is useless for his main specialization.

Я бы вот эту фразу чуть иначе составила:

И тут вместо learn какое-нибудь другое слово взяла - embrace, comprehend.

People just can’t learn that stream of information we faces to every day.

Вроде да, но и я не авторитет))
Ну вот разве что препод наш американец говорил, что предложение начинать с but не надо. Может стоит however, yet, still вместо него использовать?
